The last days of summer are upon us, but that doesn’t mean that the fun is over! There are still loads of exciting things happening all over Oregon if you know where to look. We’ve done the research for you and found some fun ways to wrap up the season!
Flicks on the Bricks
Event date: Friday, August 3, 10, & 17
If you’re looking for some free family fun then check out Flicks on the Bricks on Fridays this August. Known for their “largest outdoor screen”, the Pioneer Courthouse turns community movie theater for this free summer event including live music before each show! A couple movies you can catch this month include Black Panther and Mean Girls. Bring your lawn chairs and catch a movie under the stars.
Charleston Seafood & Wine Festival
Event Date: Friday, August 10 – Sunday, August 12
In the mood for seafood? Head to the coast for the annual Charleston Seafood Beer & Wine Festival at Charleston Marina. Eat, drink, and check out more than 50 vendors to pick up some regional wine and trinkets at this weekend-long event. All ages are welcome with lots to offer. Make it a date night and dance to live music at the Clam Jam, or bring the kiddos to water slide at the Kids Fun Zone!
Oregon State Fair
Event Date: Friday, August 24 – Monday, September 3
The fair has something for everyone, including a carnival, livestock auctions, great food, and concerts this year from big names like Styx and Kool and the Gang. Some more can’t miss events include the Amateur Wine and Homebrew competitions, the fan favorite Dog Town, and a new show with a globally-renowned troupe specializing in African-style dance and acrobatics called Cirque Zuma Zuma. 28th Annual Oregon Grape Stomp Championship and Harvest Celebration
Event Date: Saturday, September 22 – Sunday, September 23
The end of Summer in the Valley means harvesting those fresh grapes! Join the locals for the annual stomping championship held at Willamette Valley Vineyard, home to amazing wines, delicious food pairings, and one of the best views of the valley. Spend the day listening to live music and sipping wine, or sign up with a friend to compete in the stomp for a chance to win a spot in the World Championship Grape Stomp in California!
